By far my favorite place to take visitors when they want to go to dinner in the North End. Make sure you have a reservation- as it is a small (but cozy) place that fills up fast. BUT they have full service at the bar, so that's always an option. Their cocktails are tasty- and so is the house wine (I had Cabernet).
I've been here a few times and have tried the mushroom ravioli, and the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, but far and away my favorite is the spaghetti and meatball. The meat is so rich and well flavored- and their tomato sauce is perfectly tangy and a great consistency. They also always have good daily specials.
I recently took a visiting friend there for her birthday and they brought out a piece of tiramisu that was AMAZING.
Over all- the service is great, the ambiance is nice, and the food is amazing.
One of the best spots in the North End - you will not regret going.

My second time here was as delicious as my first time. They really have perfected their clams with linguine recipe and I can't get enough of it. My friend got their pesto gnocchi- I've never had gnocchi before, and I am definitely a fan I loved it. We got calamari as an app- I HIGHLY recommend this is you're a fan of calamari, cooked to perfection.

The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because our server was very awkward and the busboy/food runner whatever they were idk the exact title, spilled water all over the table when refilling my friends water and didn't even notice, apologize or anything. It was weird service for sure.

But if you're looking for scrumptious italian food in the Northend i HIGHLY recommend this place, a lot of the other places are tourist traps/wicked pricey, this one's nice.

Really need to start reviewing all of the places I've been in the north end because I never remember where I've been, unless I go inside.
On that note, this was my second visit to Nico which is a great little restaurant in the north end, with around 6 tables very tight together and a downstairs area.
This visit, we had a glass of Chianti and shared pastas since none of us were sure in our choices.
We got the gnocchi sorrentina, gnocchi with tomato sauce and mozzarella (melted into the sauce, causing some serious cheese pulls). The gnocchi was great and I really appreciated the amount of cheese in it.
We also had the fettuccine carbonara which was amazing. Perfectly cooked pieces of pancetta, delicious peas, and fresh fettuccine cooked in a delicious, creamy carbonara sauce.
Finally, we had the ravioli al' aragosta, ravioli of crab and lobster meat in a pink sherry sauce.
The ravioli was good, but fishy enough that I don't know if I would order it to eat as my meal - I don't know if I could eat a whole plate of it (and that comes from a seafood lover).
All in all, nico is a solid choice when in the north end and will definitely be a delicious meal.

Its good but not great. There are better Italian options in the area.

Service was slow and the food is subpar.

It was the last dinner of our idyllic, week-long New England vacation, and can you believe I was tuckered out of seafood? And rich foods? And delicious sauces? Hubs wanted a good, homemade pasta dinner since we were staying on the north end, so he made a reservation at Nico based on their stellar Yelp reviews, but I just couldn't do it. (I know now that it was because my gallbladder was conking out on me). I ordered the beet salad. This beet salad was amazing. I have to tell you something: I do not like beets. I ate all the beets. My husband ate all his pasta. We went back to our hotel fat, dumb, and happy.
